Cinema Reset

In partnership with the New Orleans Film Festival, Cinema Reset is an experimental film initiative focused on new media exhibition, education workshops, and fi lm screenings to open a creative dialogue about new endeavors in the fi lmmaking landscape. Cinema Reset has been hosted by the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) since 2012.

The interconnected layers of our lives create a rich story that oscillates from creator, to media, to viewer, and back again. These works examine this intrinsic connection that exists between content creator and the content viewer. As a participant, we are asked to actively view, edit, create, and imagine cinema that transcends the screen.

From October 1 – 27, the exhibition will showcase EXPERIMENTAL SHORT FILMS in the Contemporary Arts Center’s Press Play gallery, with expanded programming during the week of the New Orleans Film Festival (October 10 – 17) in the following locations:

The MICRO-CINEMA: This new alternative screening space will feature experimental short films from Lynne Sachs, Mark Street, Ian Clark and Borscht Corp. (October 11th to 13th only).

The WORKSHOP: Explore guerrilla filmmaking and then see your work PROJECTED on the Prytania theater facade.

The SOCIAL GAME: Play a collaborative SOCIAL GAME between festival goers in New Orleans and New Delhi

Director: Lindsey Phillips
Curators: Blake Bertuccelli & Trevor Alan Taylor
Graphic Designer: Kyle Sheehan

Cinema Reset artists include: Alex Braidwood & Meredith Lynn Morrison, Alexei Dmitriev, Borscht Corp, Dustin Grella, Ian Clark, Josh Gibson, Lynne Sachs, Mark Street and participants of the Outside Image Project Workshop.

Please visit www.cinemareset.com for more information, a schedule of events, and to register for workshops.
