Sarah Quintana

At A Studio in the Woods in October 2012, Sarah Quintana composed The Delta Demitasse, a musical series using water, guitar, and found instruments such as bathtubs, drainpipes, coffee cups, and bowls to explore the greater story of water in our region and to express her concern for the fragility of the Mississippi River Delta. The Delta Demitasse is one part composed and two parts improvised, captured on film by Kat Sotelo, whose artistic sensibilities compliment Sarah’s musical modesty and poetic style.

Artist Bio

New Orleans Singer-Songwriter Sarah Quintana began her musical studies in high school at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. She attended Loyola University New Orleans, earning a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and French while continuing her musical education. With a background rich in jazz, roots music, and folk, Quintana tours in France alongside saxophonist Raphael Imbert and La Companie Nine Spirit; works with Linda Wise Enrique Pardo of Pantheatre; and is hugely inspired by Kaya Anderson and the Roy Hart vocal method.
